Olympic National Park winter speaker series, 2nd Tuesdays

Free online park talks

If the Lake Ozette and Cape Alava loop trail is on your must-do list for Olympic National Park, you’re in luck! On January 17, a free Olympic National Park speaker series features a presentation on the health and protection efforts at Lake Ozette, a remote lake near stunning beaches.

Saving Lake Ozette, a uniue ecosystem

Home to a unique population of endangered Sockeye Salmon and the endemic Ozette Mud Minnow, the freshwater ecosystem of Lake Ozette is under threat from invasives, shoreline degradation, and changes in predator behavior. Learn how the park and volunteers are taking action to mitigate impacts.

The winter speaker series is free, online, every second Tuesday in winter (3rd Tuesday in January) and is sponsored by the North Olympic Library System to showcase fascinating behind-the-scenes research in the park. Find the zoom link for the winter speaker series here on the library website.
